What is JustServe?

JustServe matches churches, civic organizations, non-profits, and governmental agencies that need volunteers with volunteers willing to help. JustServe.org links you to service opportunities in your community so you can make a difference wherever you are and however you want to serve.

Once we know what the needs are, we tell you about them here on JustServe or through Facebook, and then you can go and help get the job done. We make it easy to sign up and show up, on your time and in your way.

JustServe.org is provided as a service by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Following the Biblical admonition of the Savior to “love thy neighbor as thyself,” JustServe provides opportunities to relieve suffering, care for the poor and needy, and enhance the quality of life in the community. JustServe is not for proselytizing or publicity for the Church—simply a service to match community volunteer needs with volunteers.

    Why should I volunteer?

We may not solve world hunger here at JustServe, but we’re convinced that by serving with each other in our local communities, we’re paving the way for much broader changes. Our individual efforts don’t need to be huge – a little bit of change here, a few hours there – but even small efforts quickly add up to make a real difference.

As we work side-by-side and learn from each other, mutual understanding increases, misconceptions can be corrected, and new friendships are built.

    JustServe general guidelines:

    1. The best service opportunities are collaborative – working side-by-side with others in the community.
    2. Humanitarian service opportunities should assist the poor and those in need of a helping hand.
    3. Community service opportunities should enhance the quality of life in the community.
    4. JustServe projects should not directly involve volunteers in fundraising, have a political focus, or be for-profit oriented.

Walk the streets of “Old Bethlehem” in Joy to the World- A Free Community Celebration 2014

“The wise continue to follow the star in search of Jesus; born in a manager”.

All are invited to walk the “Streets of Bethlehem.” Imagine a gentle breeze wafting the faint scent of Cypress and Fig trees, with the smell of freshly baked barley bread in the air, where Jesus once walked. Along the path the seeker will enjoy a massive display of beautifully crafted nativities and special musical presentations. Listen to the sounds of Dolce Vita and The Sweet Adeline’s, 7th Day Adventist Bell Choir, enjoy a Live Nativity, and many other traditional performances of the season.

This event is open to the community daily beginning December 10-15th from 1:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Entrance and parking are free.
